Twenty-three Drake University students are recovering from jet lag and a whirlwind three-week trip to eastern Asia after returning from the Travel Study Seminar in China. The course, titled "The 'Middle Kingdom' in a Global World: Considering Family, Self and Nation in a Changing China," allowed students to experience Chinese history, politics, culture and society first hand.

Up-and-coming journalists from across the nation traveled to Drake University recently for myriad perspectives on political campaign coverage. Drake University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication brought 24 reporters -- each with less than two years' political reporting experience -- to the three-day seminar, which was hosted in partnership with the Poynter Institute, Des Moines Register and Iowa Public Television.

Drake Neighborhood Farmers’ Market to Feature Every Day Cook
The Drake Neighborhood Farmers' Market will host Every Day Cook featuring Chef Joe at the July 11 market. Chef Joe will demonstrate easy-to-prepare recipes with fresh, in-season produce available at the market. Demos, which include free samples and recipes, are scheduled every 30 minutes during the market, which is open from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of First Christian Church, 25th Street and University Avenue.
