The first concert in a series featuring new music will present songs for violin alone and for violin with electronics.

David Cole, professor at the Georgetown University Law Center, will deliver a speech titled "Constitutional rights ten years after 9/11: Has everything changed?"

The Sept. 14 concert will feature jazz standards from all styles and eras, as well as original tunes and arrangements.

The Striving for Eternal Life (SFEL) Choir will visit Drake University at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 to share their uplifting reggae gospel sound along with their stories of hardship as refugee students from Burundi. The choir is led by Drake student Vincent Niyokwizera.

The Drake Municipal Observatory series, presented every Friday through October 28, consists of non-technical, illustrated presentations by Drake Astronomy lecturers. All lectures begin at 8 p.m. All fall lectures center on sky-themed topics.

The fall 2011 Drake University Science Colloquium Series features seven Drake professors discussing their research.

Reich will present "The Next Economy and America's Future" at 7 p.m. in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 2507 University Ave. The speech, which will include a question-and-answer session, is free and open to the public.

Drake University's fall 2011 Let's DU Lunch speaker series will kick off on Wednesday, September 7, with a presentation by Scott Bush, founder and president of Templeton Rye Spirits.
