Visiting distinguished professor of law and former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack will present an address about health care, titled "Archimedes Had a Point," on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 4 p.m. in room 213 of Cartwright Hall, 2621 Carpenter Ave.

After 26 years of service to Drake, retired magazine professor Patricia Prijatel is well known for building and shepherding the magazine program, as well as being an extraordinary mentor.

Most students rely on their friends and family for moral support while they work toward their degrees. When Richard McWilliams graduated from Drake with his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership last August, part of the credit for his success went to his wife, Nita.

When she wrote and illustrated the bedtime story "Isabelle Winkle Touches the Moon," Drake alumna Katie Beckman, AS'02, didn't know where the story would end up and what impact it might have.

The $15 million investment in the renovation of Drake Stadium by Drake University and the Greater Des Moines community continues to produce dividends.

Award-winning writer and renowned leadership consultant Barry Posner visited with students, faculty and staff at Drake University Nov. 29-30, discussing leadership programs and curriculum on campus and bringing new ideas to improve them.

By popular demand, the Chicago Bulldog Bash returns to winter with an alumni gathering from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10
