Three members of the Drake University staff were awarded Madelyn M. Levitt Awards on Thursday.

Thomas R. Pickering, former ambassador and undersecretary of state for political affairs, will discuss "America's Role in the World: Foreign Policy Choices for the Next President."

To help cope with high gas prices, Drake is taking advantage of the new program that provides free rides on DART buses.

The Fall Faculty and Staff Convocation will feature Drake President David Maxwell and members of his Cabinet, as well as the presentation of Madelyn M. Levitt Awards for Community Service and Employee Excellence.

Jean-Pierre Taoutel, senior lecturer at the University of Iowa, and Jane El-Qass, Drake University Language Acquisition Program language partner, will give a presentation on Arabic calligraphy.
