Drake University and Iowa State students received the Governor's Volunteer Award for volunteer involvement in The 10,000 Hours Show of Central Iowa (10KCI). The award was presented by Gov. Chet Culver Oct. 5, at the Southeast Polk High School Auditorium in Runnells, Iowa, to honor the student-run organization's service.

Have a blast at a Bulldog Bash
The Drake Alumni Office is seeking alumni worldwide to help organize annual Bulldog Bashes in their cities. These parties, typically held at pubs and restaurants in May and June, are fun, informal ways for Bulldogs to gather and get to know fellow alumni in their area.
Pharmacy grad awarded first Karbeling Leadership Award
The Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS) recently named Anthony Pudlo, PH'07, as the first recipient of the Karbeling Memorial Leadership Award for his leadership and outstanding contributions to Drake and the pharmacy practice.

Some Des Moines high school students got their first taste of live theater last month when Drake students performed the second act of "Nickel and Dimed" at five city high schools. The tour was made possible by an $8,000 grant from Prairie Meadows Race Track and Casino to Friends of Drake Arts.
