Shontavia Johnson, professor of law and the Kern Family Chair in Intellectual Property Law, will take over as director of Drake Law School’s Intellectual Property Law Center on July 1, 2016.

According to data recently compiled by Drake Law School’s Career Development Office, 92.3 percent of the Drake Law Class of 2015 was employed 10 months after graduation, which ranks 36th out of 204 law schools nationwide and is well above the national average.

Shontavia Johnson, professor of law at Drake Law School, has been selected as a recipient of the INSIGHT Into Diversity’s 2016 Inspiring Women in STEM Award. She will be recognized along with the other honorees in the publication's September STEM issue.

Danielle Scimeca, a third-year student at Drake Law School, has been selected as a 2016 Distinguished Law Student for the Eighth Circuit by the American College of Bankruptcy.

The Middleton Center for Children's Rights has partnered with ArtForceIowa to establish the #KnowJustice project for Iowa youth in the judicial system. The project teaches youth about the legal process, and then helps them express what they learn through art.
