Due to heavy cloud cover last night, "Stargazing with the Stars" has been postponed until 7:30 p.m. today at the Drake Municipal Observatory.

Maddie Levitt, who often said April 1 was her favorite holiday, was renowned for her April Fool's Day pranks. She was even better known as the consummate civic volunteer and philanthropist.

To celebrate Heartburn Awareness Month, Drake pharmacy students will offer heartburn screenings, which are free and open to the public, from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Hy-Vee on East Euclid, 2540 East Euclid in Des Moines.

Drake University's Undergraduate Mock Trial (DMT) Team 488 recently took fourth place at the Iowa Cornshucker Invitational – one of the most competitive tournaments across the nation.

Drake University is honored to host the Celebration of Maddie Levitt's Life at the request of her family. The celebration will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main.

With caucuses fast approaching and presidential candidates campaigning in Iowa, six Drake students got a first-hand experience to talk about the 2008 caucuses when they were interviewed by CNN on Oct. 5.

Surrounded by a group of college students, alumnus Larry D. Zimpleman, president and COO of The Principal Financial Group, was more focused on the future of business for students than the lecture he was scheduled to present that night.

Environment and energy expert Peter Soverel will deliver a free, public lecture on "Energy and Climate Change," at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, in room 101 in Olin Hall, 27th Street and Forest Ave.
