Students in Drake's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will gain leadership and entrepreneurial skills through a two-prong program funded through a new three-year pledge and partnership with Wal-Mart.
Anderson Gallery to feature Central and West African textile collection
Drake University's Anderson Gallery will feature "Woven Traditions: Central and West African Textiles," an exhibition of 40 traditional African textiles from the collection of Drake faculty members Lenore Metrick-Chen and Phillip Chen.
Iowa caucuses illuminate the Drake community
From giving interviews to helping set up shots for newscasts to participating in the Iowa caucuses, students, faculty and alumni grabbed a slice of history for Drake University on Jan. 3.

Visiting distinguished professor of law and former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack will present an address about health care, titled "Archimedes Had a Point," on Wednesday, Jan. 23. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 4 p.m. in room 213 of Cartwright Hall, 2621 Carpenter Ave.

Drake Stadium bleachers take on new life
With the renovation of Drake Stadium, the weathered wooden bleachers were replaced with new aluminum seating. Some of the old redwood planks have been recycled through woodworking projects by two Iowans.
ATHLETICS NEWS
The Drake men's basketball team held off Evansville, 71-68, to earn its 11th straight victory and improve its record to 12-1 overall -- the best start ever in school history.
