Haedicke publishes article in “Contexts”

Michael Haedicke, associate professor of sociology, had a feature article published in the Summer 2014 issue of Contexts. The article, titled “Small Co-ops in a Whole Foods World,” examines the difficulties natural food co-op stores encounter in an increasingly competitive market. It details the strategies these member-owned, mission-driven businesses have put in place to push for changes in the food system. Contexts is a quarterly publication of the American Sociological Association that makes cutting-edge social research accessible to general readers. Because of the magazine’s broad audience, Haedicke’s article will be read by college students and staff, natural food consumers, and...

This seemingly less-than-glamorous toil is actually part of a prestigious honor. The Iowa Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) selected Rosburg and his team of Drake...

My career...
