Drake University has declared Oct. 22 "DU Good Day," a day of service for alumni in central Iowa and across the country. DU Good Day activities will occur at a dozen sites nationwide, as hundreds of Drake alumni, family and friends donate their time to hunger-related causes in their communities.

I-CARE Announces 6th Annual Eat-A-Thon
In the Eat-A-Thon, several Drake University students compete to eat as many chicken wings as they can in 15 minutes, vie for nearly $1,000 in prizes, and earn the title of Eat-A-Thon Champion! In an effort to reach the goal of $10,000, I-CARE asks donors to pledge an amount of money for each chicken wing a contestant eats.
Author of book on historical murder to visit campus
Author Patricia Bryan will discuss her book "The Midnight Assassin: A Murder in America's Heartland" at 7 p.m. October 20. The event, which will take place in Drake University's Cowles Library Reading Room, 2725 University Ave., is free and open to the public.
