New lecture series to explore America’s role in the world
Drake University's Center for Global Citizenship is launching a public lecture series titled "Debating America's Role in the World" in which experts on foreign affairs will discuss a variety of topics including terrorism, the Iraq war and the Middle East, hunger, pandemics, energy and climate change.

David S. Walker, dean of Drake University Law School and the Dwight D. Opperman distinguished professor of law, has notified the University and the Law School that he will resign as dean at the end of the 2007-08 academic year and return to the faculty.

Away from the TV cameras, Drake upholds Iowa Caucus traditions
At 5:30 in the morning, Rachel Geilenfeld was trying hard to remain dry. The tickets for Sunday's nationally televised Republican presidential debate at Drake University were free, but the price paid by the 23-year-old Mitt Romney volunteer was to be buffeted by rain and wind sneaking into an open-air tent.
