Drake advanced to seventh in the "Great Schools, Great Prices" rankings and gained sole possession of fourth place in the overall rankings of 142 Midwest universities - master's category published by U.S. News and World Report magazine in the 2007

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the masterminds behind Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., are coming to Drake University, ice cream in hand.

Drake University has signed new exchange agreements with three universities abroad, creating new options for students. The new exchange agreements are with Fachhochschule Weiner Neustad in Weiner Neustad, Austria; University of Verona in Verona, Italy; and Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan.

Sandra Soria, executive editor of Country Home magazine, and Sheldon Ripson, news director of KPLR-TV in St. Louis, have been named Alumni of the Year for 2006 by the Drake University School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, the Drake Neighborhood will be host to the third annual Dogtown Fest. There will be two stages - an outdoor stage on 24th and University and another all acoustic stage at Mars Café.
