Under Drake Head Men's Basketball Coach Keno Davis' guidance, Drake won both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship and, for the first time, the MVC tournament crown. The Bulldogs also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1971.

Drake students recently participated in Drake's Next Top Entrepreneur Competition, a challenge allowing them the opportunity to showcase their creativity skills and health-care related innovations.

After serving the West Des Moines Community School District for 30 years, eighth-grade teacher Mary Brooks was honored with the 2008 Drake University School of Education Excellence in Education Award.

Each year in its main stage season, Drake Theatre typically selects one student from multiple applicants to direct a full-length production -- a chance offered by very few universities. To set itself apart even more, this year instead of one show, Drake Theatre presented three student-directed plays.

Double D Awards honor outstanding Drake letter winners; Whorton named to ESPN The Magazine Academmic All-America squad; and Emmenecker named Basketball Academic All-American of Year.

Drake University's student-run scoreboard crew is on a winning streak, too, this season providing fans with exciting game footage, up-to-date graphics and online video streaming of the nation's 15th ranked men's basketball team.
