Two business degrees ranked in the top 100 in their categories and received the highest rank of any school in the state

U.S. News & World Report released its 2022 Best Online Programs rankings today (Jan. 25), and three of Drake University’s online graduate degrees were recognized as one of the best in the nation: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA), and Master of Science in Education.

Drake’s online MBA program ranked No. 62 out of approximately 330 schools nationwide, up 81 spots from 2021. Drake’s MSBA degree ranked No. 82. Both programs received the highest rank of any school in Iowa.

“Our online MBA and MSBA combine the quality and value of a Drake degree with the flexibility and convenience of online learning,” said Alejandro Hernandez, dean of Drake’s College of Business and Public Administration. “Rankings such as these are a testament to the caliber of our curriculum, expertise of our faculty, and the success our graduates are experiencing.”

The online MBA and MSBA are 39- and 30-credit hour programs, respectively, that can be completed in as little as two years, attending part-time. Curriculum for the MBA focuses on a balance of strategic decision-making, ethical leadership, and analytical reasoning, with specific tracks in healthcare and data analytics leadership. The MSBA is the only fully online business analytics master’s program in Iowa and is designed to help leaders incorporate business analytics and big data into their roles.

U.S. News also ranked Drake University’s online master’s in education program No. 108 out of approximately 320 schools. The program was unranked in 2021. Drake University’s Master of Science of Education in Effective Teaching consists of 32 credit hours and is designed for working teachers and educators who desire to remain in the classroom while learning new strategies to enhance their effectiveness as educators.

“We are honored to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report for offering some of the top-ranking online degree programs in the country,” said Christina Trombley, executive director of Drake Online and Continuing Education. “For years, Drake has been known for its outstanding academic excellence in the classroom. We are bringing that same high-quality experience to our online degree programs and empowering individuals from any location to access a Drake education.”

Drake offers seven fully online graduate programs and one fully online bachelor’s program. The University’s online programs complement its University for All initiative, a fundraising priority of The Ones capital campaign.
