The Scholarship Committee of the Drake Alumnae Association of Des Moines plans to award six scholarships of $1,000 each. The scholarships will be awarded to current Drake students, and awards will be applied toward tuition for the fall 2007 semester.

At the Drake Double D Award dinner held Feb. 17, Drake Athletics recognized four outstanding alumni for achievements in their chosen fields of endeavor and/or community service since leaving Drake.
Former Drake players named to MVC women’s basketball All-Centennial team
Six former Drake standouts have been selected to the Missouri Valley Conference Women’s Basketball All-Centennial team, which was determined by an online fan vote (www.mvc100.org), in-arena ballots at the recent MVC tournament in St. Louis and a centennial committee.

This spring, the annual Drake Law School Constitutional Law Symposium will tackle a bold topic for debate: Does the U.S. Constitution thwart democracy? The event, titled "Our 'Undemocratic' American Constitution," is set for Saturday, April 7, with activities beginning at 8 a.m. in Cartwright Hall.

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) has announced that Jennifer Fix, PH'85, GR'86, is the recipient of the 2006 APhA Good Government Pharmacist-of-the-Year Award.

The fourth annual Drake University Conference on Undergraduate Research in the Sciences (DUCURS) will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in Parents Hall, Olmsted Center. Rodney Rogers, LA'49, GR'51, professor of biology, will also be honored at a luncheon for his 51 years of service at Drake.
