Iowa governor gives top grade to Prof. Stensrud
Robert Stensrud, professor of education, recently received the Governor's Award - the state's highest honor given to an Iowan who is dedicated to enhancing the empowerment and employment of persons with disabilities.
East Coast alumni celebrate Drake’s 125th birthday
In October alumni in Washington, D.C., and New York City celebrated Drake's 125th birthday with President David Maxwell, Drake First Lady Madeleine Maxwell, College of Arts and Sciences Dean John Burney, Provost Ron Troyer, Vice Provost Wanda Everage and Professor Emeritus of Journalism Bob Woodward.

Andrew Phelan, biographer and professor of art at the University of Oklahoma, is collecting memories of the late Leonard Good for an upcoming biography. Good, professor emeritus of art at Drake, chaired Drake's art department from 1952 to 1968.
Drake alumni awarded YMCA Service to Youth Award
Alumni Tom Drake, GR'71, and Sheryle Drake, ED'67, were recently honored with the YMCA of Greater Des Moines 2006 Service To Youth Award. The award commends the Drakes for their 34 years and countless volunteer hours to the non-profit organization.
