Drake University Law School is ranked among the top law schools in the nation in the newly released U.S. News & World Report 2026 Best Law School rankings. The latest ranking at No. 91 marks the fourth year in a row of ranking within the top 100 schools in the country. Drake Law saw significant gains in its specialized offerings, particularly in skill-based training:

· Legal Writing: The program jumped six spots this year to No.11 in the nation.

· Trial Advocacy: In a major leap, the program climbed 20 spots to rank No. 92.

· Clinical Training: Ranked No. 66 in the country.

· Constitutional Law: Ranked No. 95 in the country.

Other recognitions include rankings for business/corporate law, environmental law, intellectual property law, dispute resolution, and contracts/commercial law.

The annual rankings evaluate institutions on their graduate job placement, faculty resources, academic profiles of entering students, and peer evaluations regarding perceived program quality. These rankings place a special emphasis on bar passage rate and graduate job placement.

This year’s ranking comes on the heels of several other acknowledgments of Drake Law School’s excellence in preparing students for future career success. This year, Drake Law has been recognized by National Jurist as a top school in five practice areas including family law, business law, criminal law, human rights law, and trial advocacy.
