Allaire Nuss, a 2021 graduate of the Drake School of Journalism and Mass Communication, has won a top honor in the international Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts. Nuss won an Award of Excellence in the Specialty Program/Podcast category of the audio competition. The acceptance rate in the competition was 20 percent. Nuss’ entry was her podcast “Dead. Moines,” which she created for the senior capstone website Urban Plains. She is now an associate entertainment and home editor at Dotdash Meredith.
