Send thoughts to Professor Cardwell’s family

Much-loved and admired Drake history professor Curt Cardwell, a frequent and friendly presence in Meredith Hall, passed away unexpectedly earlier this month. Students can share their sympathies and memories with Professor Cardwell’s family by sending them to Arts and Sciences administrative assistant Karen MacKinnon at Karen.MacKinnon@drake.edu.

And finally . . .

If you haven’t listened to National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman’s amazing and inspirational recitation at last week’s presidential inauguration, you really should. Gorman later discussed “the power of words” in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
