U.S.-Japan relations in a fraught time
Fumiaki Kubo, professor of American government and history at the University of Tokyo, will speak on Thursday, March 1, 7 p.m. in Mer. 106. Professor Kubo, an expert on U.S.-Japanese relations, will discuss the state of the alliance during an uncertain time in the Asia Pacific region. The lecture — sponsored by the SJMC, the politics department and the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago — is free and open to the public. Professor Kubo is on a national speaking tour, and the Japanese consulate chose Drake as one stop because of the University’s key role in electoral politics.
