The Annual School of Education’s Alumni Awards and Senior Recognition Dinner, to be held Thursday, March 8, pays tribute to three dedicated educators who reach beyond the classroom to benefit the community.

“DRAKELINE WEEKLY” returns to Des Moines-area cable viewers of The College Channel 16 for a 12-program season that launched Thursday, Feb. 1.

Drake Athletics will recognize four outstanding alumni with the Drake Double D Award Saturday, Feb. 17, at a dinner starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Hotel Savery in Des Moines.

Drake President David Maxwell was honored last week with the Donald V. Adams Spirit of Drake Award.

On March 2-3, Drake will toast its women’s basketball alumni, with particular honors to the 1981-82 team that advanced to the Elite 8.

The Drake National Alumni Association will honor five alumni for their accomplishments and contributions to Drake and society at the Annual Alumni Awards Dinner on Saturday, May 12, in Parents Hall, Olmsted Center.

Nearly 90 Drake alumni and faculty members will increase their workload this month as volunteers for Drake's National Alumni Scholarship Program. They will spend Feb. 10 and 24 interviewing qualified applicants for the University's Alumni and Carpenter scholarships in this prestigious annual competition.

The Drake Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, at First United Methodist Church, 823 Merchant Street, Emporia, Kan.
