Drake students take third place in regional CFA Institute Research Challenge

Five College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA) students had the opportunity to represent Drake at the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute Research Challenge in Des Moines.

Karis Wong, Harsh Mota, Russell Pang, Intisar Nasir, and Te Lim Lim, competed in the challenge, which required the students to analyze the stock of Meredith Corporation. The team was asked to write an initiation-of-coverage report and present their recommendations to local investment professionals who acted as judges.

Seven teams competed in the challenge with the Drake team taking third place overall.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge has local, regional, and global tiers in which students all over the world compete. The 2012-2013 competition yielded more than 3,500 student participants from more than 775 universities and 54 countries.
