Drake lecture to address world hunger, sustainable agriculture

News PhotoDrake University will host agriculture expert Fred Kirschenmann, who will speak about “Feeding the World with Sustainable Agriculture: The Possibilities” at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in room 115 of Medbury Hall, 2730 Forest Ave.

Kirschenmann, distinguished fellow at the Leopold Institute for Sustainable Development at Iowa State University, will address issues of meeting global food supply demands while making agriculture more sustainable. Some topics include: population growth, ethics and practice, rising energy costs and ecological risk.
