Drake Law School alumni and friends are invited to gather for an exciting evening with Latin jazz genius Nachito Herrera on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Dakota Jazz Club, 1010 Nicollet, Minneapolis.

Jay Karr, JO'50, author of "Leaving the Home Front," will appear at a book signing and reading from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, at Borders Books, 4100 University Ave., West Des Moines.

McCoy, the Phoenix Suns broadcaster, has been selected to receive the Curt Gowdy Media Award for 2007 for electronic media.

Randy Ball and Tom Lichtenberg, who have a combined 39 years of collegiate coaching experience, including 25 years as college head coaches, have joined the Drake University football staff. Matt Jeter has been promoted to defensive coordinator.

The classes of 1957, 1947 and 1937 will celebrate milestone reunions during Drake’s Commencement Weekend, May 10-12.

Drake is working with Publishing Concepts Inc. to produce a new alumni directory in both book and CD formats.

Student artists and Drake First Lady Madeleine Maxwell spent the week before spring break crafting canine masterpieces for the new Bulldog Parade. The bulldogs will be unveiled at the annual Blitz Day Picnic the afternoon of Thursday, April 12, just in time for the 98th running of the Drake Relays.
