Beginning Friday, May 2, five graduating art and design students will present their senior capstone project titled “Primal” at the Anderson and Weeks Galleries on Drake University’s campus. Their work will be on display until May 16.

Pet therapy dog at Mercy Katzmann Breast Center lands title of Most Beautiful
Lucey, a pet therapy dog at Mercy Katzmann Breast Center in Clive, Iowa, was crowned the 2014 Most Beautiful Bulldog at Drake University’s 35th Annual Beautiful Bulldog Contest on April 21. Lucey beat 49 other contestants in the running to be crowned the official mascot for the 2014 Drake Relays.

State legislator to deliver public Weaver Medal of Honor Lecture at Drake
John Forbes, PH’80, owner and manager of Medicap Pharmacy in Urbandale, was selected to receive the 2014 Lawrence C. and Delores M. Weaver Medal of Honor, the highest honor given by Drake University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS). As part of this honor, he will deliver the 2014 Weaver Medal of Honor Lecture on Wednesday, April 23.
Drake’s Engaged Citizen Series to feature Tina Frundt discussing sex trafficking in Iowa
In an effort to educate the community, Drake University has invited Frundt to deliver a lecture as part of its Engaged Citizen Series. Her lecture, “In Our Own Backyard: Sex Trafficking in Iowa,” will take place on Tuesday April 29 at 7 p.m. in Parents Hall of Olmsted Center, 2875 University.
