Drake's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will present it's highest honor to Jack Ellis, a 1957 graduate and retired director of Abbott Laboratories, at a ceremony on April 27.

"An Evening with Twyla Tharp" should appeal to anyone interested in learning from a master of her craft. Tharp's lecture will translate lessons from her more than 45 years of creativity and collaboration in the world of dance to a broader scope of experience.

The grants, part of Prairie Meadows's 2010 Community Betterment Program, will benefit Drake's Adult Literacy Center and Office of Marketing and Communications Department.

This summer, Drake's football team will travel to Africa to take part in the Global Kilimanjaro Bowl, participating in the continent's first-ever game of collegiate American-style football.

Dolph Pulliam, a Drake alumnus and director of community outreach and development, was recently awarded the Missouri Valley Conference's 2010-11 John Sanders "Spirit of The Valley" Award.

Paul Kirk was chosen to serve as the media coordinator for the Drake Relays and the primary media contact for the University's Men's Basketball and Football teams.

For the second year in a row, Des Moines will celebrate the Drake Relays with a downtown version of the University's street painting tradition.
