Alanah Mitchell, associate professor of information systems and the department chair of information management and business analytics (IMBA) in the College of Business and Public Administration (CBPA), has been awarded the Association of Information Systems (AIS) Saundra Slaughter Service Award.

The award recognizes outstanding contributions of leadership and service to the profession and was presented in December 2019 during a ceremony at the International Conference of Information Systems in Munich, Germany.

Mitchell’s contributions to AIS have included a variety of leadership roles including serving as the president for the AIS Special Interest Group on IT Project Management from 2013–2016 as well as serving as one of the program co-chairs for AMCIS 2016 in San Diego. She is currently serving as the associate vice president of conference management systems for AMCIS as well as a program co-chair for the Midwest Association for Information Systems (MWAIS) 2020 Conference to be held at Drake University in May 2020.
