Drake University hosted its 10th annual Marketing Speed Networking event on Thursday, March 1, in Parents Hall, Olmsted Center. Nearly 70 Drake students connected with 49 Des Moines-area professionals, ranging from entry-level marketers to top executives.
Students had the opportunity to network with up to 10 professionals, each in seven-minute sessions. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy as students eagerly made their way around the room. This event allowed students to build valuable connections with professionals who were excited to share their knowledge and experience.
“Marketing Speed Networking is a great event. I have attended for the last three years now, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know professionals in the Des Moines area,” said Rebecca Crepeau, a senior marketing major. “I have also had great conversations with these professionals, learning from them, and they have helped me with my job search as well as finding internship opportunities.”
The Marketing Speed Networking Event was made possible by the contributions of the Drake College of Business and Public Administration and the Drake American Marketing Association chapter.
“Many of the connections formed during this event lead to mentoring relationships, internships, and full-time marketing positions,” said Mary Edrington, associate professor of practice in marketing and faculty advisor for Drake AMA.
