Singers interested in joining the Drake University/Community Chorus are invited to attend the first rehearsal of the fall semester from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24. The rehearsal will be held in Monroe Recital Hall in the Harmon Fine Arts Center, 2505 Carpenter Ave.
Rehearsals will continue weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. under the direction of Aimee Beckmann-Collier, director of choral studies at Drake. The rehearsals will prepare the singers for a performance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, on the Jordan Stage in Sheslow Auditorium in Old Main, 2507 University Ave.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, is titled “A North American Partnership” and will feature music by composers from Canada and the United States.
The Drake University/Community Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble open to all Drake students, faculty and staff, as well as any interested singers in the Des Moines area. There is no membership fee.
