SJMC Monday Memo

Alumni news

Alicia Kang, JO’16, has returned to her native Malaysia, where she is an international marketing label manager at Universal Music Group. She also acts as a part-time on-air radio personality for several outlets, including Malaysia’s No. 1 online radio station, AFORADIO under the name Alicia FireHeart. She says that she has gotten very much involved in the music, dance and entertainment scene in her homeland. Alicia has worked at Walt Disney Co., ESPN and Des Moines Radio Group, among others. Says Alicia: “All these amazing opportunities came from my classes, my professors, my peers at Drake. It really pushed me to reach beyond and seek what life has to offer. Made me comfortable to get out from my comfort zone, and so very thankful as each day goes by with more exciting things to come.”

Help us get back to “normal” — report your vaccination

All members of the Drake community are encouraged to help alleviate the threat of the pandemic by getting vaccinated. And, once you are fully vaccinated, please report that to the University. Required campus safety protocols in the fall — including mask wearing and social distancing — will be determined by how many people on campus are vaccinated. The sooner everyone gets vaccinated, the sooner we can loosen restrictions.
