A leading scholar of U.S.-Japanese relations will discuss the state of the Asia-Pacific region during heightened world tensions in a lecture on March 1 at Drake University.
Fumiaki Kubo, A. Barton Hepburn professor of American government and history at the University of Tokyo, will address the current relationship between the U.S. and Japan from a political, national security and economic perspective at 7 p.m. in Meredith Hall 106, 2805 University Ave. Kubo, a former scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center, will be in Des Moines as part of a national speaking tour.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Drake University Department of Political Science and the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
