Widespread phishing email targeting Drake

Between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. this evening, an email with the subject “ATTENTION REQUIRED (Health Care Notice)” was sent to a large number of faculty and staff. This was a widespread, malicious phishing email directly targeting Drake, with the link in the email directing the recipient to an external website spoofing the blueView portal in order to collect usernames and passwords.

ITS has blocked this malicious link to prevent anyone on the Drake campus network from reaching it, however if you opened the link from off campus or prior to when it was blocked, your account is at risk. If you think you may have clicked the link, please change your password at your earliest convenience by visiting password.drake.edu. Instructions are located in the ITS knowledgebase, or you can contact the Support Center at ext. 3001 for assistance.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly with any additional questions or concerns.
