The School of Education at Drake University is pleased to present a one-day special education conference on February 16 focused on legal developments in the field. This Special Education Law Conference will feature Dr. Mitch Yell from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Yell will provide special education updates at the national level as well as issues specific to the state of Iowa.
Specific topics discussed will include early dispute resolution, avoiding errors in IEP development, review of recent court findings and summaries of topical “Dear Colleague” letters from the U.S. Department of Education. Iowa Special Education and Disability Legal Experts will also be giving presentations and providing time for Q&A for Iowa Educators.
This one-day conference will be held on Thursday, February 16 from 8:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. in Parents Hall on the second floor of Drake University’s Olmstead Center. The cost of the event is $50 with early bird registration of $40 ending on January 24.
