Timothy Welty, department chair of clinical sciences and professor of pharmacy practice in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (CPHS), has been elected Chair of the Continuing Pharmacy Education (CPE) Commission, a subcommittee of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
The CPE Commission was established in 2007 to guide ACPE’s Continuing Pharmacy Education program, which creates and maintains accreditation standards for continuing pharmacy education. Welty is one of the original commissioners and will serve a one year term as Chair of the Commission.
Welty currently serves as department chair of clinical sciences in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), and the American Epilepsy Society (AES), of which he is the chair of the committee for Antiepileptic Drugs Workgroup of the Treatments Committee.
