The Drake Choir and Chamber Choir are currently on a trip to Ireland and Wales, where they are performing at some of Europe’s finest venues. They will perform twice in Wales, which is renowned for its choral tradition. In Ireland, they will give six concerts and will perform in some of the country’s most famous places, including St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The choirs will share concerts with other well-known choirs.
Choir members spent three intensive days prior to the trip rehearsing, recording and learning about Wales and Ireland. The Drake Choir has been touring internationally every four years since 1992 and has visited a range of countries including Italy, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic. Members of the choir raise a majority of the funds to go on these tours; for this year’s trip, they raised $250,000.
Both the Drake Choir and Chamber Choir include students from almost every college and school of the University, and include a range of first-years to seniors.
