The Drake men’s basketball team has been invited to participate in the 2010 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage this November.
The Bulldogs will be part of an eight-team field that includes host Alaska Anchorage along with Arizona State University, Ball State University, Houston Baptist University, St. John’s University, Southeast Louisiana University and Southern Utah University.
Drake will play Southern Utah in the first game of the tournament at 4:30 p.m. Iowa time and then face either Ball State or St. John’s in the second round.
The Bulldogs will be making their second trip to Alaska in five years, previously playing in the Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks during the 2006-07 season.
