Religion expert to explore religion, democracy relation in Africa

South African religion expert Raymond Kumalo will deliver “Religion and Democracy in the New South Africa” on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The “United States and the World” lecture series is free and open to the public. The event will start at 12:30 pm in Bulldog Theatre in Olmsted Center, 2875 University Ave.

Kumalo is the author of “From Deserts to Forests: A Model of Practical Theology” and is an expert on religion’s role in the transition to democracy in South America.

He is a lecturer at the School of Religion and Theology at the University of KwaZulul-Natal in South Africa.

The “United States and the World” lecture series is sponsored by Drake’s Center for Global Citizenship in cooperation with the National Security Network.
