Reception, award to honor Boyd Granberg

All Drake pharmacy alumni and friends are invited to attend a reception on Friday, May 16, to honor C. Boyd Granberg, long-time faculty member and former dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The reception will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Weaver Lobby of Cline Hall.

The reception will feature a formal announcement of the creation of the Granberg Professional Leadership Fund.

Pharmacy alumni also are invited to nominate Drake pharmacy faculty members for the C. Boyd Granberg Professional Leadership Award, which recognizes and celebrates the contributions of faculty members who demonstrate sustained and significant leadership in professional organizations, and inspire students toward professional involvement.

This annual award recognizes one faculty member for his or her service to professional organizations. The main purpose of the award is to foster ongoing personal and professional development of pharmacy faculty, recognize leadership role models and encourage involvement by students in professional organizations.

The recipient of the C. Boyd Granberg Professional Leadership Award provides a lecture to student graduates of the college’s Student Leadership Series at their year-end banquet in April. In addition, the award recipient also addresses students at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Doctor of Pharmacy Hooding Ceremony in May.

For information on the award criteria and nomination process, or to contribute to the Granberg Fund, contact Emily Westergaard, Major Gift Officer for the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, at 515-271-4049 or emily.westergaard@drake.edu.
