Two junior magazine majors — Sheena Gebhardt and Andrea Zimmerman — were chosen for the prestigious American Society of Magazine Editors Internship Program and will spend their summers interning at top New York magazines. Drake is one of a select few schools allowed to nominate two students for the program, and this is the fourth consecutive year for two Drake students to be chosen. Emma Sarran has also landed a summer internship in New York at Seventeen magazine.
“We have a simple formula: Attract smart, talented and hard-working students and give them the opportunities and encouragement they need to thrive,” said Patricia Prijatel, associate dean of the SJMC.
