City bus to feature art by Associate Professor Ben Gardner

**NOTE: This event was originally set for Dec. 6, but has been rescheduled to Dec. 11. The event will be held on Pomerantz Stage in Drake’s Olmsted Center.**

DART and the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation are partnering with Drake University to unveil their latest installment of the art bus series. Twice a year, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation chooses a design and an artist’s work is used to wrap a DART bus. The latest bus is the seventh in the series, and will feature artwork by Benjamin Gardner, associate professor and department chair of art and design at Drake University.

Representatives of DART, the Greater Des Moines Public Art Foundation, Drake University and Gardner will speak at a short ceremony in the Olmsted Center at Drake University. Following the remarks, attendees will be welcomed to view the unveiling of the bus in the parking lot adjacent to the Olmsted Center.

Media and the public are invited to attend the unveiling, details for the event are as follows:

  • When: Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Where: Pomerantz Stage of the Olmsted Center, Drake University Campus, 2875 University Avenue, Des Moines.
