Michael Couvillon, Associate Professor of Education, has been invited by the Iowa Department of Education to serve as a Special Education Mediator for the State of Iowa. Special Education Mediation is intended to diffuse and resolve disagreements between families and school districts on issues related to identification, evaluation and placement before they reach a level requiring a formal legal process.
