Drake celebrates tenure for faculty members and promotions

The Office of the Provost at Drake University is pleased to announce the faculty members who were approved by the board of trustees for tenure and/or promotion. The promotions and honors for 2014 are as follows:

College of Business and Public Administration

  • J. Royce Fichtner received tenure and as been promoted to associate professor of business law.
  • Radostina Purvanova received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of management and international business.
  • Toby White received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of finance and actuarial sciences.
  • Steven Scullen has been promoted to professor of management and international business.

School of Journalism and Mass Communication

  • Kathleen Richardson has been promoted to professor of journalism.

College of Arts and Sciences

  • Benjamin Gardner received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of art and design.
  • Michael Haedicke received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of culture and society.
  • Mahmoud Hamad received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of politics.
  • Olga Lazareva received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of psychology.
  • Amahia Mallea received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of history.
  • Martin Roth received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of philosophy.
  • Leanne Freeman-Miller has been promoted to professor of voice.
  • Jennifer McCrickerd, has been promoted to professor of philosophy.
  • James Romain has been promoted to professor of saxophone and jazz studies.
  • Keith Summerville has been promoted to professor of environmental science.

  • Robyn Cooper received tenure and has been promoted to associate professor of education.

College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences

  • Andrew Miesner has been promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice.
  • Denise Soltis has been promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice.
  • Nora Stelter has been promoted to associate professor of pharmacy practice.

  • Shontavia Johnson has been promoted to associate professor of law.
