Drake Choir and Chamber Choir to tour northern Iowa, Minnesota next March

August 6, 2007

If you live in northern Iowa or the Twin Cities area, get ready for a musical marvel: The Drake Choir and Chamber Choir are coming to a venue near you March 12-14, 2008.

Plans are being finalized, but the two choirs tentatively will perform evening concerts in Mason City, Iowa, on Wednesday, March 12, and in the Twin Cities, Minn, on Friday, March 14. The performances will feature a wide variety of music and will be free and open to the public. The two groups will also perform at local high schools during the tour.

The 48-voice Drake Choir is the University's select touring ensemble, and the Chamber Choir is a select ensemble of 20 singers drawn from the Drake Choir. The ensembles will tour Austria and Italy in 2008, so alumni and friends who hear them perform in the coming year will catch these outstanding performers at the top of their game. You can listen to sample sound clips of their exceptional talent on the Drake Web site.

Details about the choirs’ performances will be posted on the Drake Web site and featured in future editions of eBlue. All alumni and friends are encouraged to support the choirs by attending their concerts.
