Drake’s newly designed Masters of Science in Education: Teacher Effectiveness and Professional Development is coming to the Des Moines Downtown School.
The program highlights include:
- 32 semester hours; non-thesis program’
- Offered jointly by Drake University and the Business/Education Alliance
- Four hours of elective credit earned in the last five years can be transferred into degree program
Special features of the program include:
- Classroom application is an integral part of each course
- Learning experience embedded in the nationally recognized Downtown School
- Courses delivered by Drake University and the Business/Education Alliance
- Courses conducted by local, state and national practitioners, as well as Drake professors
- Courses are aligned with National Board and Iowa Teaching Standards
- Courses meet at times convenient to practicing classroom educators
- Student-centered learning program with 18-1 student-teacher ratio
Enrollment details include:
- New cohort beginning soon
- Entire degree can be earned in 2 calendar years
- Students enroll at Drake University School of Education
- Tuition is current Drake semester hour rate plus technology fee
