Panel and workshop will focus on media business models

The School of Journalism and Mass Communication in partnership with the College of Business and Public Administration is offering a two-part panel discussion and workshop focusing on how media organizations are creating and adapting to new business models, as well as redefining mediums of communication.

The Changing Business of Media consists of two sessions targeted primarily for SJMC students and focuses on how news and information is delivered and consumed today and how media organizations are adapting and changing. The panel session will look at a new business models for traditional media, as well as social models, and how changes to the business affect journalists, broadcasters, public relations professionals, advertisers and marketers. An entrepreneurial workshop will be conducted the following week to move participants to action as entrepreneurial thinkers, communicators, marketers, journalists–and consumers!
