Mike Pursel, Drake alum, was the recipient of the IPA Appreciation Award, as announced at the IPA Annual Meeting on June 12, 2015 in Coralville, Iowa. The Iowa Pharmacy Association Appreciation Award was created in 1988 to recognize individuals and corporations for their support of organized pharmacy in the state of Iowa.
Mike is the Director of Field Medical & Advocacy Relations for Sanofi Biosurgery, joining the company in December 2014. While Mike has 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry with significant portion spent at Teva Pharmaceuticals, he has also worked 8 years in association management and 36 years as a pharmacist. Mike has always been a strong advocate for IPA and the IPA Foundation over the years. Not only has he been able to garner support from Teva Pharmaceuticals for the Leadership Pharmacy Conference and endowment, he and his wife Terry, have provided personal support to create an IPA Foundation named scholarship at Drake University. IPA has been fortunate to have the upmost and unwavering support of a pharmacist that cares so deeply about the leadership development for the future of the profession.
