The Association of Government Accountants (AGA) has selected Drake students Eva Greder and Katie McCauley to attend its annual leadership training in Washington, DC. AGA is the member organization for government financial management professionals. Through training and events, professional certification, publications and ongoing education, AGA helps members build their skills and advance their careers. AGA is committed to increasing government accountability and transparency. The association has been instrumental in helping develop accounting and auditing standards and in generating new concepts for effective organization and administration of government financial management.

AGA selected 10 students nationally to attend this training. Two Drake University accounting majors, Eva Greder and Katie McCauley, were among those students chosen to receive this award based on their academic performance and leadership activities on campus. Eva and Katie will attend the 2020 National Collegiate Leadership Program with an opportunity to engage with and learn from leaders in government financial management at AGA’s National Leadership Training (NLT) in Washington, D.C., on February 12–13, 2020. The students have also been invited by the local AGA Des Moines Chapter to attend one of their training seminars to share their experience at the leadership program.
