What have alumni been up to? University Advancement has been busy planning various events this fall. Some of which took place in front of old main and others which took place over 1,000 miles away from campus.
An Evening at the Kissing Rock, October 2017
The Student Alumni Association (SAA) promotes the long-standing traditions of Drake University to keep students engaged with the past. The Kissing Rock, a way to commemorate the iconic Chancellor’s Elm, has been a tradition since 1898. Central Iowa alumni joined current students at this year’s kissing rock event to share their love stories that began at Drake University.

Drake alumni and friends gathered at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill to meet and mingle with President Martin. Those that attended had the opportunity to listen to the president share his vision for the University in the years to come. The event was also a great environment for former classmates to catch up!

At an evening at The Glen Club, hosted by Ken Krucks, LA’75, over 140 Illinois alumni mingled over hors d’oeuvres and drinks. President Martin welcomed the crowd with remarks that outlined the vision for the University and introduced the new College of Business and Public Administration Dean Dan Connolly. The event lead to great conversations and time to catch up with old friends!
