Dorothy Pisarski, associate professor of advertising, was appointed to the Iowa International Center’s Board of Directors in September 2017. She will serve a three-year term alongside 14 other members of the board, including Associate Professor of Political Science Eleanor Zeff, to continue the Iowa International Center’s long history of building cultural respect.
Pisarski brings to the board her extensive professional experience in marketing and advertising, as well as her ability to speak Polish and Spanish. The Iowa International Center’s three main functions include providing interpretation and translation services in more than 60 languages, working with the U.S. State Department to host international visitors in the Greater Des Moines Area, and offering ESL classes.
Pisarski graduated from Siena College in Albany, New York, where she received her Bachelor of Science in marketing/management. She later received her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
