These Drake students published a book on Des Moines’ faith traditions

The Des Moines Register columnist Daniel Finney spoke with Drake J-Term students about their experience with researching, writing, designing, editing, promoting, and publishing a book on Des Moines’ religious diversity. More than 65 Drake students have collaborated with faculty members and community partners over a two-year period to produce A Spectrum of Faith: Religions of the World in America’s Heartland. The beautiful coffee table-style book profiles 15 faith communities in central Iowa, including Sikhs, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and Christians. A book launch will be held April 6; key participants in the project include The Comparison Project at Drake University, Drake Community Press (the book’s publisher), local photographer Bob Blanchard, and Des Moines Area Religious Council. The book is currently available for pre-order for $30, learn more at this link.
